Europe’s premier technology publications, unified under the European Hardware Association (EHA), are thrilled to announce the EHA Reader Awards 2024 that will take place at the prestigious Marriott Hotel in Cologne on Tuesday 20th August – the day before GamesCom opens its doors.
GamesCom is the perfect backdrop for the EHA Reader Awards, given that it now stands as the world’s premier event for the computer and video games industry. It is expected to attract over 300,000 visitors from more than 100 countries, including 30,000 trade visitors. It is a dynamic hub where enthusiasts and industry professionals converge to see more than 1,200 exhibitors in an event that sprawls across more than 230,000 square metres.
By day, attendees can explore a vast array of stands showcasing the latest in gaming and hardware innovations – then, by night, they can attend the ceremony itself. The EHA Reader Awards promise an evening where industry leaders gather to celebrate the pinnacle of technological innovation and brand excellence – as chosen by the gamers themselves.
Since its inception, the European Hardware Association has played a pivotal role in guiding the tech landscape with its diverse group of member publications, including HardwareLuxx from Germany, Geeknetic from Spain, Technology Insider from the Netherlands, PurePC from Poland, io-tech from the Nordics, Hardware Upgrade from Italy, CowCotLand from France, Lab 501 from Romania and KitGuru from the UK.
Collectively, these publications help influence over 20 million PC technology enthusiasts across Europe, with an average spend of €1,500 a year each on PC-related hardware. Overall, that means a substantial influence on nearly €30 billion in tech investments in 2024 alone.
This year, the spotlight turns to the brands that have consistently excelled in delivering quality and innovation, as voted by the very readers who rely on these products daily. Unlike the EHA Awards, which are editorially led, the EHA Reader Awards 2024 focus on brands within the industry rather than specific products – providing a unique opportunity to celebrate enduring brand excellence.
The awards night on the 20th August will commence with doors opening at 18:00. Attendees will enjoy a pre-event reception with refreshments and snacks, setting the stage for the main event at 19:00. Following the awards ceremony, the evening will continue with a selection of food and an open bar, offering ample opportunity for networking and celebration among peers.
